Orienting the RSR2

RSR2's should be aligned north/south so that the the rotating band is pointed away from the equator.  (e.g., in the northern hemisphere the band is attached to the north side of head unit.)  The oreintation does not need to be precise, within a few degrees will suffice.  However it is important to use true north rather than magnetic north which is read from a compass.  The difference is called magnetic variation (sometimes magnetic declination) and can be calculated or read from some maps.  Note that magnetic morth can be either east or west of true north.
